Wisconsin Dells 2017- Day 4

Hey there friends! We spent 4 fabulous days in the Wisconsin Dells! Today, I am going to be talking about day four. Be sure to check out days onetwo, and three.

Day 4 was a bit of catch up. We knew we wanted to shop at the Downtown Dells, but with the park fiasco, we didn't have a choice but to do it the morning before we left.

For some reason, the kids were up at 6:30! (Kill me now). This actually turned out to be good. We usually pack up the night before, but we were so tired, we didn't bother. Check out was at 11. We initially planned on just taking our time, maybe swimming again, hitting the playground, and then leaving right after check out. We decided to pack up, get ready, check out, and get some breakfast before the shops opened at 10. So that's what we did. We all got ready, got packed, and checked out. We then headed to Denny's for breakfast. I don't like eating at chains at places where there are lots of fun, local restaurants. I had heard good things about several, but didn't feel there would be much for us to eat. I didn't want to pay the same price and not get my belly full. At Denny's, the kids ate oatmeal. Kyle & I got the veggie breakfast skillet with no egg whites and a side of tortillas. We had a 20% off coupon from the rewards club, so that helped too! It was so filling and good.

Once we were done, it was about time for the shops to open. We get a magnet from every vacation we take. My best friend, Lindsey, is our unofficial dog sitter and also has a birthday coming up. We decided to get these two souvenirs and explore. We had fun looking at everything. We spent about two hours doing that, then took a stroll down the Riverfront. We then headed to the car for the journey home.

Before we left, we stopped at the dollar store. I got the kids a little toy each, just something new to play with for the journey home. We also grabbed some fries on our way out of town.

We decided to go home to other way this time and holy cow! Not only was there one toll vs six, but no traffic the whole way! We will definitely go that way from now on anytime we head that direction. The boys were much better on the trip home than on the way there. They both took a solid nap, enjoyed their new toy, and had a snack. Kyle and I enjoyed listening to our audiobook on the way home. It took almost the entire time, so it kept us good and occupied.

We stopped for gas, coffee,  bathroom breaks, and eventually dinner. We got home around bedtime. We brought everything in and put most of it away. Then we both went to bed, since Liam had a soccer game the following day.

Overall, we had some very tense, scary moments, but in the end, we had a really wonderful time. It was nice being able to take a trip and having fun together. Most of our trips are ones we plan and save for for at least a year or so. I wouldn't mind taking some more like this.
